Sailing trip to discover Uruguay
We invite you to take part in a unique and unforgettable adventure: cross to the fantastic coast of Uruguay on board a comfortable sailyacht, totally equipped to live this adventure.
We'll sail out of Buenos Aires in a 32 foot (10 meters) yacht with capacity for up to 5 passengers on board and a highly experienced captain. We will cross the Rio de la Plata (the widest fresh water course in the world) and will spend approximately 10 days exploring the lovely ports and beaches of the Uruguayan coast. After spending a few days in Punta del Este (the paradise of Uruguay) we are going to return to Buenos Aires in one overnight journey, two weeks after having hoisted anchor and adding 400 nautical miles to our memories that will be with us always.
But... I've never been sailing!
No knowledge of sailing is required for the passage. The captain will be in charge throughout and will teach to those who wish, the basic foundations for navigating the route. If you already have some nautical knowledge, he will reinforce this and provide the local experience of the entrances and landfalls for the ports and shall perfect the general techniques of medium and long distance sailing in both river and sea.
The routes are generally of short duration in the beginning, with later sections a little longer when going towards the sea. The return will be an unforgettable adventure, leaving the turquoise ocean to enter the lion coloured river, in 32 hours of "non-stop" overnight sailing.
The total voyage is divided into two stages. You can select to do one or both.
What is included?
Everything. The trip in the sailboat, the food on board, the security equipment on board, insurance, a berth per person to sleep, captain, all expenses of the boat and Uruguayan ports, and the assured amusement.
What is not included?
Any meals out in the different places on "terra firma" that we visit. Transfers to and from Buenos Aires or Montevideo for those who part take in only one stage of the trip. Also the crew tip is not included (we suggest from 5% to 15%).
